R-19 Insulation
R-19 Insulation

Most builders use R-13 insulation which costs more in heating and air conditioning over time.  We use R-19 Insualtion standard on all homes. But what is an R-value? R-value means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. Tiny air pockets trapped in the insulation resist the passage of heat—heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. The thicker or more dense the insulation, the more air pockets and the higher the R-value. Higher numbers indicate insulation that is more effective. Thermal values range from a low of R-4 to a high of R-45. The...

An R-value of R20 in spray foam will provide substantially better insulation and energy efficiency then even an R40 in batt insulation. Benefits of Foam Insulation Foam Insulation has an R-value of approximately 6.0 per 1 inch thickness, enabling it to provide more thermal resistance with less material than any other type of commercial insulation material. Spray foam insulation saves on energy costs and lowers utility bills. Studies by the US Department of Energy show that 40% of a home’s energy is lost as the result of air infiltration through walls, windows and doorways....

Water Heaters
Water Heaters

October 10, 2012
Heating water accounts for up to 30 percent of the average home’s energy budget. A gas-fired tankless water heater can cut the cost in half. What is a Tankless Water Heater? A tankless water heater only heats water when you need it. So you get an endless source of hot water, while also saving money on energy costs by not heating and reheating the same tank of water. When opening a hot water tap, or starting the dishwasher, a tankless water heater starts heating immediately. The temperature of the incoming water is used to calculate how much heat the burners must produce to...
